Description

For those of you who were getting tired of all those vampire drawings, REJOICE!!!

Wow.  I haven't drawn this character in what feels like AGES!  I think the last time I drew this ethereal beauty, I was in college.  And I graduated in 2002. This is Sebelene, another part of the "Eden" story I mentioned in my Clerios drawing here: brandonhill.deviantart.com/art… .  I'm in the process of reorganizing the plot somewhat, but once I'm done with my current two stories, I want to concentrate on this one, as it is my "baby" - a planned epic trilogy in the vein of Star Wars and Dune, which is the story I have the highest hopes for.

Okay, a little bit of explanation: Sebelene has gone through a lot of changes since I made her.  She is the last of an alien race called the Orki, who, for lack of any better way to say it, "fell in love" with the human race, and offered them "transcendence into an energy state (something similar to the Ascension of the Ancients from the Stargate universe).   But a tragedy occurred with their first contact with the humans, which caused indescribable carnage, so when things were resolved, the humans, who had long since achieved the so-called singularity, sought to start again, and re-birthed "pure" humans on a distant world called Eden, where their descendants could be nurtured with the Orki to transcendence.  But something went horribly wrong, and the Orki were slaughtered to near-extinction.  Sebelene now, is the last of her kind, and awaits the first to transcend, in order to teach him about his heritage, and his destiny.

The detail of your pieces is one of the best perks one can view in your piece, hence high ratings and originality. The character design, from the curved cuts in her sleeves to the intricate head wear and characters on her bodice and leg cuffs to the many well done folds of fabric, makes a prime example of how important your little details affect the overall impact of the piece.

While on impact, I loved the use of red and felt it could have been even a little more! Even if she remained black and white, some more color may make her 'pop' off the page even more. I like the red glint and the pattern for the shine you used.

There is only one element that seems awry with the technique and I've noticed it in other pieces. The angle seems skewed in places, this was noticed in her face. This may also be a slight turn of the head.

Great work, this is one of my favorite pieces of yours yet! The flow from head to toe, the gorgeous clothing, the confidence in her actions... All make for a very appealing character!
